Mr. Michael Ewing, Director of Federal and State Programs
Michael Ewing is the Director of Federal & State Programs at Stafford MSD. Michael graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Texas Southern University. Immediately following graduation, he continued his desire to work with young people and began his teaching career in Houston ISD. During this time, he earned a Master’s degree in Education from Prairie View A&M. After three years in HISD, he spent five years in Alief ISD, where he became a leader at the campus level and served as an ARD Facilitator. Pursuing a greater level of leadership, Michael accepted the position of Special Education Coordinator in Fort Bend ISD and served the district for 5 years. He truly believes in working with parents, students, staff, and community stakeholders to build and maintain appropriate programming for students.
Ms. Shaunte' Norris
Shaunte' Norris, M. Ed is a diagnostician at Stafford High School. She attended Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta GA where she obtained a BA in Speech Communication and Theatre with a concentration in Theatre Arts. Ms. Norris served as a Theatre Arts, Speech, and Debate teacher in Stafford Municipal School District for 9 years before she decided that she wanted to make a difference in the lives of students with disabilities. She believes that it is her duty and responsibility to serve as their advocate. In 2005, she graduated from the University of Houston- Victoria with a  Master's in Curriculum and Instruction.  Ms. Norris has worked in Stafford Municipal School District for 15 years. Some of her most memorable assignments include Middle/High School One Act Play director, Assistant Director SHS Musicals 2001-2006, Middle School UIL Coordinator, CPI Instructor, and ESY Coordinator.
Ms. Stephanie Reagle
Stephanie Reagle is the Educational Diagnostician at Stafford MSD Primary and Elementary School Campuses.  Mrs. Reagle taught both special education and general education in SMSD for 18 years before becoming a diagnostician.  She received her undergraduate degree in American Jurisprudence from UH-Clear Lake and her graduate degree in special education from UH-Victoria.  Mrs. Reagle enjoys working with students, staff, and parents to assist all students in their educational endeavors.
Ms. Joan Malmrose
Ms. Malmrose completed her training as a Diagnostician in 1979 at University of Houston, Clear Lake.   She has worked as a teacher, counselor and diagnostician in Detroit, Atlanta, Houston, Clear Creek and University of Texas, Medical Branch in Galveston.  She has always enjoyed watching children grow and reach their full potential.  Ms. Malmrose joined SMSD Federal and State Programs Department in August, 2009.
Ms. Sheila Bond
Ms. Sheila Bond is the Administrative Assistant for Federal and State Programs.  She is a graduate of Wiley College, “Home of the Great Debaters," with a Bachelor of Science degree.  She has been employed with SMSD for four years.
Ms. Tasha R. Burris
Tasha R. Burris, M.Ed., CCC-SLP, is the current Lead Speech Pathologist at Stafford MSD.  She attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. where she obtained a BA in Political Science and a Masters in Special Education with a concentration in Communication Disorders.  Tasha completed her Clinical Fellowship Year in HISD.  After leaving HISD, she began working as an Assistant Speech Language Pathologist in North Forest ISD from 2001-2008.  Tasha became a Certified Speech Language Pathologist in December of 2008.  After receiving her certification, Tasha continued to work in North Forest ISD as a Speech Language Pathologist from 2008-2010.  After over 9 years of working in North Forest ISD, Tasha decided to leave the district and become a Contract Speech Pathologist in Pearland ISD.  In the district, she was assigned to run a program for preschool age children (Speech Impaired Only) called Successful Techniques for Articulation and Reading Readiness (STARR Program).  The program was designed to target learning in a language-rich environment using thematic lesson plans and station rotations to address individual educational plans.  In addition to her current role as Lead Speech Pathologist in Stafford MSD, Tasha also provides speech therapy services in a home healthcare setting.
Mrs. Tamara Davidson
Tamara Davidson is an experienced Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant with more than 18 years of experience in field of Speech and Language Pathology. Mrs. Davidsons’ primary career objective essentially encompasses effectively utilizing her professional knowledge and expertise to ensure all students are successful. She attended Southern University Agricultural & Mechanical College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology and a Masters of Education degree with a concentration in Urban and Ethnic Communication Disorders. Her career began as a Clinical Fellow with TheraTx Rehabilitation in Houston, Texas where she established a full time speech therapy for the first time in several years in a long term care facility. Furthermore Mrs. Davidson provided dynamic leadership and coordination of various health care professionals in the management of individuals with communication deficits most specifically neurogenic disorders and dysphagia disorders. Mrs. Davidsons’ uniqueness quintessentially lies within the remediation of communication deficits in clinical settings as well as diverse educational settings from kindergarten to high school. Mrs. Davidson is currently expanding her knowledge by pursuing a Doctor of Education degree from Nova Southeastern University with concentration in Organizational Leadership.
Dr. Leigh Kent
Leigh Harrison Kent, Ph.D., serves as the Licensed Specialist in School Psychology for the Primary, Elementary, and Intermediate campuses.  She has a background that includes six years of teaching at the high school level and nine years of service as an educational diagnostician at the early childhood, elementary, and middle school levels.  She holds an M.Ed. from the University of St. Thomas and obtained her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Houston.  Dr. Kent has experience in pediatric psychological assessment from Texas Children’s Hospital as well as consultation and counseling adult and youth clients in a variety of school, hospital, and private clinic settings.  She also has experience teaching in her field at the University of Houston.
Dr. Andrea Velox

Andrea Velox, Ph.D., serves as the Licensed Specialist in School Psychology for Stafford Middle and High school campuses.  Dr. Velox received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Central State University in her home state of Ohio. She then obtained a Master’s degree in Psychology from the College of William and Mary; and completed her graduate studies at Texas A&M University, with a PhD in School Psychology.  Dr. Velox has worked in the mental health field for over 25 years in hospital, drug rehabilitation, and institutional settings. She has spent the last 15 years in schools after coordinating the Mental Wellness Program for Head Start of Harris County Department of Education; and thereafter, deciding to work specifically with children and adolescents. Dr. Velox has experience working in school systems in Nebraska, Atlanta, and 5 years at HISD prior to coming to Stafford.  She has a commitment to serving diverse, “at risk”, and financially underserved children and adolescents and their families; which coincides with her continuing multicultural workshops, and projects dealing with health disparities among special populations in Anchorage, Alaska and Canada.
