Student Safety Patrol
When you visit Stafford Elementary School during arrival and departure times, you will see the Student Safety Patrol in action. As school-age leaders in traffic safety, patrol members teach other students about traffic safety on a peer-to-peer basis in addition to serving as role models for younger children who look up to them. They also assist parents and bus drivers in safely transporting students to and from school. Selection as a member of the Student Safety Patrol is based on high standards of behavior and scholarship. Participation in the Safety Patrol gives our students an opportunity to develop leadership skills, a strong sense of citizenship, teamwork, and practical safety awareness. If selected for the Safety Patrol, all students must successfully complete a three week training program based on the principles of the American Automobile Association’s Foundation for Traffic Safety. We appreciate the contribution they make to the safety of our students.
